Fresh off the back of a sold out solo exhibition in Covent Garden, London Ryan Hewett has taken the time to work with us on his website and brand refresh. Our previous design explored big imagery with a focus on texture, Ryan’s expressive mark making and liberal palette. As an accompanying feature, his brand identity borrowed these accents to create a very abstract, linear depiction of his name.
This time around the emphasis was on a more classic approach and certainly something more akin to the Candy Black signature style. With clean, crisp white backgrounds, a sensitivity to negative space and a simple, bold approach to font selection, Ryan’s latest global icon-themed portraits sit proudly, on their own terms, emulating that of a gallery visitor’s experience.
